Cage Advice

I have recently purchased an old 80s d90 canadian military Rover that I am looking to put a new cage on. I found a Safety Devices RBL188 7SSS which seems to offer some decent protection. Does anybody have any experience with this product? Does anybody know if it is compatible with the standard NAS soft top or Hard Top? Any alternatives I should consider instead? Thanks.

SD made the NAS cages. Only pre fabricated competitor is Protection and Performance.

That's the ST version. They also have a SW version...which is on my NAS 90, but will fit any of the 90s I believe

This one looks like its the safest since it covers the glass too, but I'm not sure if the standard NAS Bestop top that I have for it will fit or not. Sewing up a custom top does not seem like my cup of tea.

I think we need to know whether or not you will run a hardtop or not.

Sean, where are you in Connecticut?

You probably can't fit the NAS bestop on that truck with this cage, but i own a SW, so i'm not the one to ask.

I live down in Stamford.

So am I just SOL then? What do people typically do for replacement cages/tops?

You'd probably need to source a NAS ST cage if you want to use the NAS ST Bestop or get the SD then have a new top made.

Anyone else have any thoughts?

Exmoor makes a top that is specific to the RBL188. As far as I know, you can NOT run any NAS top with that cage.

Go with Safety Devices if possible. The Performance and Protection cage I have on the shop floor at the moment really pales in comparison to the SD stuff, both in terms of build quality and the level of safety offered. It's an inferior design.
