Hi,
I hunted for this sort of 3d data when making a custom roll bas set up for a 110 about 2 years ago....and found nothing! Someone somewhere has it, but I guess now we are talking about Land Rover or Saftey Devices..

Steve, I for one would be interested. I need to fab up a rollcage and was considering doing the same on CAD but don't nearly have the skills necessary.

You might get into resell issues if you charge for distributing it- you know, sell it to one disgruntled bugger who then turns around and sends it to every board or on Ebay. Heck, it'd be nice if you'd do it as a service to the board ...

What kind of turnaround time is there to get you to produce one of these?

Cheers

Steve,

I'm looking for a cad drawing of the full rollcage for a ST- from front window surround to rear tub. A bit more detailed I guess than a SW outer roll cage...

If you decide to release either the SW or ST cad drawing I'd still be interested. Let me know your progress...

Cheers

Chris,
Define full rollcage - you mean just the tube on the outside as it runs in or you talking the rear pillars as well?
I'm toying with the idea of doing a cad drawing of my truck now...

Oh, and how intricate? Do you want a full on 3-D model or does a 3 view 2-D representation work?

i think i can do the sw outer as it is simple and i have one to refrence, so i am not sure about a st cage as there would be an awful lot of extra work on my part an the engineer i am getting to do the Pro E work. there really isn't anything in it for me to do an extra cage ya know?

Steve,

I understand the disinclination (?) to do a ST rollcage drawing- heck, I wouldn't do one either if I didn't need to- way too much work measuring and figuring and plotting etc!

I would be interested in your SW outer rollcage drawing (by which I mean the front hoop, bar across the lower windshield, side bars over the doortops terminating into the body)- the rest I could fab on to this detail and it would certainly be a start. I don't think a full 3D model would be necessary- just something that could be dimensioned by a manufacturer.

Cheers

i believe we are going to do a 3d cad model and will have dim. drawings off that for my sw. i will post that when i am done for anyone to work off of. i will not take any responsiblity for dim. or fitting or anything. as someone brought up in an earlier post. but it will be a start for all of us DIY er's out there. we have the capabilities on my end so i am already doing it and will post for all to share. no responsibilieis on my part. it should be done in maybe a month unless i just buy one, which i have not seen a price that i am happy with yet so... i 'll be sitting in front of my cad box some weekend when i have time.

Hi, If someone could get me some clean 2D drawings (or file), I will see how tough it is to put the shell of a truck in - good news is a defender is, lets face it, a box. tim

oh ok.
It'd be cool to get the prints for a full cage for a NAS 90.
That's the cage that is upwards of $2K from SD and Evans.
