Buying Checklist - '97 D90

Hello - I wanted to inquire as to whether there are any specific questions or checklist items that need to be addressed before buying a 97 defender 90. Questions related to rust, maintenance history, etc are a given. Anything else that you experts would suggest that can creep up on a buyer of a 97 that I should be on the look out for?

Thanks!

Try to get one with a nice center console. Mine is in crap shape and no matter how much I clean/armor-all, it still looks like it was set on fire.

Just dye it. SEM Landau Black, Eastwood sells it, I use it and the results are fantastic.

Or if you are super lazy, paint it with a rattle can. But, take it out completely, before painting...

Genius. Just bought some from Amazon. Thanks Joel.
