Bummed about tire carrier

I've been looking around for a little bit for a beefier tire carrier and decided to get a shrockworks one for the st. Well I saved up and decided to call today and when I asked about it they told me that they stopped producing them. Did anyone else know that they stopped production of this unit? Also, is there any other tire carrier out there that looks similar to the shrockworks one? I really liked how it seemed high up and out of danger. Thank you.

Not all that similar, but this was built for me for $250 total by a local fab guy. The swivel is a machined down Chevy wheel spindle. It can support the entire weight of the truck.

Off topic (again)

Dave, your truck is looking bad ass... I hope to see it in person some day to check it out... IF I ever make it out west for some wheeling. In the mean time you need to do a complete photo shoot and writeup for d-90.com!

That is one beast of a tire carrier, and i thought the shrockworks one was beefy looking. I think I might go the custom fab route. Now, all I need is reputable fabricator to take that picture to. Does anyone know of anyone that will make one, preferably in eastern PA or NJ?

Thanks Souza! Thats nice of you. I have some good picts of the last weekend. One with the truck on it's side, and some other good ones. But, they are all too large to post up. I am fixing a little body damage that I did on the same trip (I should have backed up istead of trying to bounce the front end off the rock wall!). Anyway, there should be some good pics coming up during the CC. My truck is one of the "tame" ones out there.

Jake, I just had Matt ar Rockware build me one too. Very nice Pics Are posted in the Misc. section under project updates on page 11. Mine incorporates a rear bumper with corner protection and a rear hitch.

Randy that is a nice tire carrier and it looks nice and stout. I'll probably call them to see what they could do for me. Thanks for the ideas guys.

I plan on fitting a Mantec on the 90. Can you swing it independently of the door? If so, then I plan on fabricating a jerry can holder as an extension that would snap on the Mantec and stay on with a small hitch pin. Swinging the Mantec alone would make fitting it on a snap and you can remove it in everyday use.
