Bulkhead vent pin removal

I've seen threads on replacing the vent seals. I'm curious how folk are removing the two hinge pins on each vent flap without damaging the pin, etc.

Thanks for the indulgence!

Pins are cheap. I think I bought them from George for 3 bucks a piece. Just get touch up paint to repaint the heads

I second that on the vent seal glue. I am assuming you are going the rubber route

I have a set of the SIII rubber seals (MUC4299) on the way and a set of the adhesive-backed JAE000030 seals in the garage (which I'm not planning on using).

I'll have a look at the other threads for a good and suitable adhesive for the application.

Thanks!

The pins come out easily using the technique already mentioned. If you want to remove the vents to put genuine seals on, you have to pull the bracket off by removing the small screws holding it on, a much more difficult (in my opinion) task than the pins. Just takes a tiny wrench and a lot of patience

I've been out of town most of the week, but got the vents off before I left. Happily I could get my little 8mm wrench in there.... Much easier after removing the section of the cage.

I've (mostly) cleaned the old crap off the back of the vents. Now waiting for my SIII seals to arrive, which seem to have mysteriously been sucked into a vortex somewhere between Valencia, CA and Seattle.

Thanks!

Where do I find the non-adhesive seals and vent pins online?

Has anyone tried retro fitting the new style bolts to replace the old spread pins ?
