Build sheet and history questions

I have the fortune to have found the build sheet behind the rear door panel for my "new-to-me" '97 and it has line items that I would like to decipher. Anyone have insight to what these mean?

Model M.AAMJ 90VSIS/WAGON CTY

COUNTRY B.163 JAPAN LHS

Also, I cannot find any history prior to it hitting the US border via CarFax or any other method and the local Rover dealer said they don't have a system to track VIN numbers...what? I'm interested in knowing the service history, etc. Is it possible they would know at the factory, assuming they even care!

LOL ... the factory doesn't have service records ... these vehicles were built way before computerized records were popular.

I'd guess yours is also one of the ones sent to Japan so if it has a MPH speedo then that's also been replaced with no way of knowing the actual mileage.

Has speedo in kilometers with a MPH decal on top.

Go to British motor heritage for more build history.
