Broken Axle Shaft, What to do with it

I broke the rear axle shaft right at the flange. I replaced both with Rovertracks. Can I repair the broken one enough to use if needed to get off the trail if i were to ever break one again?

Make a knife or a good sword with it, it's hard steel ...

If it is a long side you could rebroach it and use it as a short side, but I would sell you a used one for much less than the cost of broaching it. Also, I can pretty much gaurantee you will not break a rovertracks axle with the truck in your avitar.
