Brakelights turn on dash lights - stupidest electrical problem ever

Yeah, my brakes turn on the dash lights. Its so dumb. Anyone else ever have this problem? Of course this is a 300tdi, but I'm fishing here...

That is funny....sounds like some wires are crossed. The cool thing about the Tdi is alot less wires to sift through. Good luck my friend.

I had that fr^T&(ing trailer light connection plug corrode, short out, melt wires and do everything from light the dash up to having the reverse light come on when you use the radio !

The culprit has been up inside the frame rail where the trailer plug is connected and will resemble a small snake that has eaten a large rodent (that is wearing a green sweater)

We've seen this a few times recently that were traced down to a bad batch of 12v 1157 bulbs. They short internally so that when you hit the brakes it back feeds power back into the parking light circuit (dash lights).
Pull the bulb and then test the system to check if that is the issue.

Just like Mike said - bad freaking bulb with an internaal short. Thats some crap, but at least I solved it.
