Brake Rotor wear

I am replacing my pads this weekend and adding the the paragon performance lines. Thought I'd check my rotors as well. I assume that I can just use an engineering caliper and determine wear (anyone got the acceptable levels?)? Are there any visual items to check for as well? First time thru, so any help would be appreciated...

I think that all rotors are stamped with a minimum thickness. If you are just replacing pads then it should be easy.

Since you have the tire off take a look at all you suspension bushings make sure none of them are loose or cracked and warn. You can do this with tires on but it is easier with them off. Also it is easier to fill the swivels with the tire off so you may want to check them also. Oh check the calipers make sure they are not leaking any break fluid. If you have enough jack stands you can rotate the tires. With the tire on but Jacked in the air you can check for play in the bearings. There's more I am sure.
