Brake Pad Install

I've got new pads for the rear of my 110 but I'm not too sure which way to install them. These are genuine pads from Rovers North. They have a sort of shim attached to the rear of each pad (as seen in the pic), offset to one side. They seem to be handed with two of each. I don't know which way I should install this pads. With the shim positioned to the front or the rear. The old pads did not have these shims. They had separate metal shims that slid down between the piston and the back of the pad. New metal shims came with the new pads, but I don't think they are going to fit as it is just too tight. Instructions in the box did not detail this.

Any insight or ideas greatly appreciated.

Well, the word I got from a friend in the know is the composite backing pads are now used in lieu of the old sheet metal shims. He also said to put the pads back with the composite pads at the "top" which puts them on the leading edge.

So now I know.
