Brake fluid dot 4 vs Castrol 5

After doing my clutch and using the Castrol, the clutch was a bit squirely. I bleed it again and it still was the same. Had some shutter in the clutch, especially when cold. When I used the motive bleeder to bleed it the clutch fluid was a bit grey. It was also grey when I flushed it to replace with the dot 4. With the dot 4 the shutter has gone away and the clutch seems more consistent.
The master, the slave and the soft hose were new when this all started.
Thought this was interesting, thoughts?

I literally just did mine as well last week, using Castrol GT LMA and the Motive Black Label bleeder. Mine was grey as well when I flushed it. After the first flush drove it about 60 miles and noticed the reservoir fluid was grey-ish again so re-flushed it - been good ever since. Didn't act squirrelly like you mentioned at all before or after, but did seem to perform nicely since the flush (of course it's probably my imagination or wishful thinking that it's "better" now ).

Perhaps some air in the system? If you're trying to cheat and underfil the Motive it will suck air down the line without you realizing it (found this out on my second flush when I was trying to be cheap and not open another bottle).

Folks I ordered Castrol GT LMA brake fluids through Amazon. The package arrived this evening. When I opened the box they sent me Castrol Brake Fluid DOT 4. Is this the same as Castrol GT LMA?

Tom, was the castrol in a sealed bottle? It takes on water once opened.

LMA is NLA. Not sure what I am going to use when I run out.

The Castrol is still LMA, it's just not in the name anymore.
