Brake Conversion Question

I am converting the rear drum brakes on my D110 to disk brakes. I've already fitted the brackets, calipers, hubs and rotors. Now, I'm getting ready to start plumbing the system. I'm going to run all new 3/16" tubing with new fittings.

What I'm wondering about is if I will need to change out any of the other components. I don't imagine that there would be any issues with the Brake Servo or Master Cylinder... but what about a proportioning valve?

I have to imagine that there is something that I need to be doing to ensure that the front brakes are getting more braking power than the rear, in order to avoid rear-wheel lock-up.

Any thoughts?

This is a fairly common conversion here in the UK, and no one seems to have any brake balance problems. You can always add a restrictor to the rear line if you find the balance is off.

I've done several, on 90 and 110's (changing the rears to disc, from drums) and never had any problems with handling, MoT tests or anything.

just fit & forget, no need to chnge any of the other plumbing/PDWA valves etc.
