Braided Stainless Oil Cooler Lines

My oil cooler lines are dry and cracked. I need to replace them ASAP.

I see that ECR no longer ships their kit (shop install only). Does anyone know of someone who makes a quality braided stainless kit before I go have something fabricated?

Or... any important tips if I do have to have a set fabricated?

Oil lines and fire extinguisher. I see the connection there.

Just did the oil cooler lines from Trailhead a week or so ago. Eric shipped them quickly and the product works well. I also bought a new fire extinguisher but have not mounted it yet. The altnerative (so I was told by 100 people here) is to skip the new oil cooler lines and get a bigger fire extinguisher.

I took my oil lines to a place here in Dallas called fast hose. They build stuff for race cars etc. They talked me out of braided bacause if the inners rupture you are still shooting oil all over your engine and still have a fire risk. I went with some high pressure lines and wrapped them in some hi temp stuff so if they do rupture they will not sprew on the engine.

Not posh but I decided to make mine easily field repairable. Not to mention inexpensive.
I cut my flex hoses off, installed 1/2" compression tube to 1/2" hose barb (good to 200psi) and used 400psi hydraulic hose with heavy duty all stainless hose clamps. Then I covered the hose with Thermo-Tec's Thermo-Sleeve.
If a flex hose ever gets damaged or worn for any reason it's a quick $4 repair.
Total initial investment was about $45.

Tom,
I purchased a very similar setup from ptschram (disco web) and this is what I'm running on the disco. Went a more expensive approach on the D90 a few years ago, and if I had to do it, I would go the cheap route. Replacing those hoses would be a breeze and so much easier to source (not even talking about the dirt cheap price).

I have one of those too and they are great for the price.

I guess I hit up Eric on a vacation week. I haven't been able to get in touch with him. On a side note and not to get too far off topic, has anyone installed one of Trailhead4x4's Stainless exhaust Y-pipes? I'm really interested in those too.

I got an email from him a few days ago. He is out of town and out of stock on the oil cooler lines until October 15th.
