Bottom Door Seals

The door seals I had needed to be replaced, and the sill underneath repainted. These were the straight seals that rivet to the bottom of the sill, not the door itself.

Is this what I want for replacement?
ALR6250

I ask, because when you look those up, you get pics of what looks right, but also pics of the other types.

Rovers North does not seem to have what I need, the PN search there brings up seals made for Mid-1990's on, and they seem to be the type that go onto the bottom of the door, not the sill.

That's cool. I'll check if they fit my doors.

Looks like $35 each + shipping from UK.

RN only deals w/ NAS defenders on their new parts. Before you go to UK for anything check out Trevor at Rovahfarm. I recently purchased the same seals from him for cheap & I'm sure the shipping will be much less than UK. Good Luck

Yes Zack...I inquired about several items for my '89 Ninety P/U and was told that RN deals primarily w/ new parts for NAS defenders. Was I miss-led?

Why does my ALR6250 search at RN not come up with the one you just posted?

Look at the link I provided, it's a search for that same PN, but it doesn't even suggest an alternative. LOL, no wonder I can't figure anything out on parts. Google often shows me little girl toys and unicorn pendants when I do Rover parts searches.

No idea. It shows two options for me. Genuine and aftermarket (Proline). Search

Zack is always willing and waiting to help.

In all fairness...looking back I was inquiring about diesel parts for the Ninety 19J turbo engine which RN does not offer parts for but I did get the comment that they deal primarily in NAS parts. Obviuosly RN does offer a wide variety of defender parts but you are right about the sight...some items just don't come up or may not be as clear as they should be.

We try to specialize in NAS defenders, but we definitely try to support earlier and later Defenders as well.

Not sure why it wasn't working for you, but I'll try to explain.

The sill mounted style(MWC6130) supersedes to the door mounted style(ALR6250).

We have the following

Sill mounted: Only Proline, PLH452(replica of the MWC6130)
Door Mounted: Genuine: ALR6250(RNH453)
Proline: PLH453

Yeah, I get it, but it's odd that a search brings up one, not the other, but the other is there.

Ben, I literally just did this job on a D90.

I did as one of the thread posters suggested and redid the holes in the rubber to match up with the existing holes in the door bottom.
Just line it up and mark with a silver Sharpie....

When I search ALR6250 I get two results, a Proline and Genuine option. Is that not what you get?

Click on one. It will show the proline as an option.

I picked up part # ALR6250 to mount on the door. The holes actually lined up perfectly and I grabbed a set of #10 screws from Lowes and thought I was good to go. Unfortunately, once installed the door wont close! Obviously something (either the screw head of the sill seal itself) is preventing the door from closing. Has anyone else had this problem? I've got an '84 Ninety with the new TDI push button doors.
