Borla Magnaflow or Custom?

So I just read about every thread in the search on exhaust and still can't make up my mind. I am looking to replace my tailpipe and muffler and would love a louder deeper sound. I would just go with Borla but its so much more expensive than the magnaflow. Does anyone have soundclips of their borla or magnaflow so I can compare the two and maybe justify the cost difference?

The 3rd option I am considering is going to a local exhaust shop and getting one custom made. If you guys think this is the case, can anyone recommend a good muffler/exhaust shop in the LA area?

So what would you do
Borla, Magnaflow, or Custom?

Mine had a cheap flowmaster welded in place of the factory muffler when I bought the truck. It sounds great and I have replaced a lot of parts over the past couple of years but left the exhaust alone.

The magnaflow has that good deep tone in the vid. Is it louder in person than what I can hear in the video?

Also curious about spintech.

I vote for the Magnaflow . . .

That video sounds about right, IIRC. I never recall thinking it was "too loud".

no its not louder, in fact I was surprised it seemed quieter than the vid IMO.(since the video sound is taken from behind the truck) Almost stock sound pleasant growl on hard accell. Passed the wife test! what more can I say?

Would the Borla or Magnaflow fit a 300tdi D90 as well? Is there any difference in regards to fitting compared to a V8?

I have the Magnaflow on my truck. That is actually my truck in the video. I just moved up to westwood this month. If you want to come by and check it out you are more than welcome. I think it sounds great.

Abeer, if you're going to go Magnaflow, I'd do it today.

Carl...

I've had both a straight through, muffler free 300 TDI exhaust and a small MagnaFlow muffler (looks like a glasspak) and the MagnaFlow took the sharp crack out of the exhaust with no apparent drop in power or the engine running hotter. I prefer it with the MagnaFlow.

Yea I saw that. The only thing is the place Bozman got his from still has it for 479 including shipping. I think I am probably gonna go with magnaflow based on price alone.

Wow, that is a good deal!

And another $10 off if you post the link to this forum and send it to them (that comes up after you use the discount code).

Clark,

Did you purchase the whole system or just the Magnaflow muffler itself?
