Bonnet stay (hood support)

I can't figure out why my hood support doesn't work. Here are two pictures.

Is there something missing or broken?

The stay folds down if i let go of the hood. It does not latch up. I have to use a board to keep the hood up.

Does anyone have a photo of what it looks like when latched open? A photo if the arm and the latch at the bottom would help.

its folds in the middle forward to stay open, the bar sits against rad bracket and you lift and fold it back to close, Right

nothing looks out of sorts in the picture

Mine does not forked forward, towards the front of the truck. I can't lift the hood high enough to get it to fold towards the front of the truck. The bottom near the radiator bracket is bent and doesn't slide up high enough I guess.

the photo that matters is where the two rectangular sticks intersect/cross, not where the sticks attach to the bonnet/slam panel.

Richard: why is your radiator top bracket interfering with the support? Someone had cut into it.
Can you zoom out a bit?
I'm thinking you may need to remove the hood.

Great, thanks for the photos. I think I know what the problem is with mine.

I discovered the problem. My arm was installed backwards! Someone must have taken it off and installed it the wrong way. Once I flipped it over it works fine.

Now I don't have to wear a hard hat when I work under the hood
