Unhappy Bonnet mounting config for steel wheels?

What is the bonnet mounting configuration for steel wheels on the standard mount? Do I need some longer studs, etc.? or is my engineering skill really depressed at the moment?

Thanks!

I just did a steel wheel on mine. There are four bolted rubber posts that hold the tire just off the bonnet. the bolts should work for both alloy and steel. The line up for the elevated rubber bolts is under your bonnet. Look at the reinforcing rails and there should be x4 holes already drilled in the reinforcements. those are your markers. They should be about 15" apart. draw a line from hole to hole forming an "X" in the center of your bonnet. that is your drill point for your center hole. then you will need to drill two more holes, one just to the left and the other just to the right. these should line up with your mounting bracket. The bracket and rubber elevating bolts are key here. I also had to order a stronger bonnet spring from England in order to have the bonnet release properly under the weight of the spare.

I believe the only difference between alloy and steel wheel bonnet mounts is the retainer (the part that comes off). I have the steel version on mine.

good info on the different spring! What's that part no? I need it!

I think I have one. You can have it if I do for cheap.
