Biodiesel compatability of fuel lines for 98 Defender TDi

Hi

I'm trying to help a friend determine whether the fuel lines in his 1998 Defender TDi, from Great Britian, will be compatible with Bio Diesel. I've looked at the lines coming from the tank and they are rigid, approx. 1/8" and don't have any specification information on the lines. Does anyone know if the lines are made with synthetic rubber? We both live in Costa Rica and finding replacement lines could prove difficult. Thanks. Mike

My understanding is the line itself is up to the task but the o-rings at the connections are not. And LR doe not reccomend bio-diesel in these lines. Best to look for a more definite answer though as I am going off of postings found on the web.

I know from personal experience that the little 4mm return lines that go from one injector to the other won't last long with biodiesel - Mcmaster Carr has 4mm Viton hose though.
