Back many decades ago, we saw this happening and determined that it was due to bushings being overcontained. The shocks when run out of angular movement and then snap the attachment. The bottoms on, I think the later Disco 1s had bushing cups on the bottom that were welded to the support and with some shocks, would not work with the bushing. The Bilsteins, in particular, would not work with them and you needed to cut the cups off. When you install, test each and and make sure that the shock can easily move enough.
