We are starting to re-assemble our 110 with a new 200TDi. The original mounts seem like simple chunks of rubber without much in terms of vibration dampening. Has anyone replaced these with any other (dedicated aftermarket or otherwise custom-made) mounts that may offer some advantages in terms of vibration reduction?
Have been saying that one of these days, I am going to make a bolt on set of custom mounts that use the large hydraulic filled Mercedes mounts, but haven't gotten to it yet.
If you look up the OM617 build up or Izuzu 4JB1-T thread, you'll get the idea.
I think Robert Davis has an idea on the drawing board that sounds very interesting. Other than that I don't know if any. I'm in the same boat and would love to have another option to play with.
My Mercedes GL has 65,000 miles on it, and it goes in next week to replace the blown hydraulic mounts. (both of them are leaking) so I'm not sure it's the best option as far as reliability goes on your rig.
