Bestop installation video

It is SFW since all the swearing was edited out. It is fun watching someone install a D90 top for the very first time.

Eric, first off, thanks for the hat from AB this past weekend at Guy Fawkes!

That's a good little video. I haven't watched the whole thing (I love how it's 22 minutes long!) but I'd just say it's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay faster if you start from the front and then work back. Doug draped the top over the side, then got inside the tub and draped it over the B pillar, then stepped back out and snapped in the C pillar snaps. If he's already up in the Tub where he was, it's way faster to just put the Header bar section of the top into place from up top where he was; you have a great view from up there, and your hands have far more room to tuck the header bar section in, when compared to trying to do that from the inside. Then once that's in place, unfold the top over the Alpine and C pillars (minding to keep everything tight as you pull it over each section of the cage), and then work front to back once more securing everything (including the windows). You probably save a good 5 minutes that way.

One of the best ways to make the soft top installation nice and fast is to pack it up with the header bar section as the very last piece rolled up, so that it's the first piece to unroll and install, the next time it's needed.

I figured Guy Fawkes is a fun event that should have a few goodies tossed it way. Looks like it was a great time. I was tempted to run out in the Audi but wasn't up to it with a three year old in tow.

I passed on the top info to Doug this was his first top so he did have some struggles for sure.

Most people lose weight or gain six pack abs between the before and after shots.

Must be something I ain't seeing....

I'll have to watch this as I'll be installing a Bestop that's been sitting in the box since 2009.
