Hey guys. Just got this 110 pickup and I don't really love the huge amount of rake it has (higher in the back). From looking at google images it appears that this is pretty normal for 110 pickups, but I don't love it. It's a little over 2" higher in the rear. So I could throw some spacers in the front (cheap), replace the front springs with 2" lift springs, or replace the rears with springs from (I'm guessing) a 90? What do you think I would be best with?
For reference it's on 31's, and the plan is to go to 33's when these wear out.
90 springs won't fit the rear as they're a smaller diameter (you can swap the axle lower brackets over from 90/110 as they just bolt on, but the upper chassis welded on brackets will still be too big)
Try fitting levelled suspension 110 SW springs. these vehicles had the boge self levelling strut, so the springs were slightly less rated.
I had the same problem with a 110 crew. Tried to level by going up, leveled it out but it rode like ****. I had 755s in the back and rte 3” springs and a 1” spacer in the front.
Just got it lower and level. Switched to OME 752s from 755s and it dropped like an inch in the rear, removed the front spacer.
752s might not be the best if you’re gonna fill the bed up with stuff.
Just finished a 110 Truck Cab that has a 19J, Rockware bumper and winch, and 235/85 (approx 32"). Fitted OME 751 and 755 for a nearly imperceptible rake.
I don't care for a lot of rake in trucks. I'll never tow anything with it, and the times I fill the back with lumber I can deal with a sag.
It's just an aesthetics thing for me.
Stock trucks had a heavier duty spring at the rear. If you change it out for a lighter duty spring you will lower the rear. Need to find out what you have on it first however.
I would guess it's got HD's in the back... they're pretty darn stiff, but surprisingly don't ride all that bad.
To answer KGH... truck drives great. Tires are new and brakes are great. Leaks pretty much everywhere except the blinkers, but I've had enough LR's to have figured that would be the case. I'll be tearing it down little by little to fix all the leaks and such while still driving it as much as possible.
When I take the wheels off to sandblast/paint I'll leave the coffee can hubcaps off for sure.
And Rocky... I'll be sticking some 33's on there at some point most likely.
If you're going 33's then I would go up in the front.
