I believe you. I have a PC over galv bumper. It has adhered well. The only dray back is the scars in the PC are hard to touch up.

Just leave it "rover chrome".

People say you can paint over galvy and some very well respected shops do (ie ECR), but I won't believe it really works until I see pictures 5-10 years down the road and it is not flaking.

There is a product called galvagrip

which is supposed to work ....

I should be picking up my parts hopefully today--I spoke again with the Rustoleum hot line folks--they seem to really know their biz. I asked them about using their self etching primer and they said absolutely not--it will end up flaking/peeling as it is an oil based primer. That is a major no-no. Water based primers only on galv steel. They do not make an aerosol version, only the brush on (not that a water based one does not exist). FYI. I'll probably just thin the brush on and spray it if I can't find an aerosol primer.

If you get the stuff today give me a call and if I am around you can drop off my stuff on your way home so you do not have to have it rolling around in the back of your RRC.

I was planning to use an acid based etch primer based on my paint guys recomendation

Says it is made to be applied direct to steel, galvanized steel and aluminum

They also sell it in cans
