I know a few guys in the UK running these hinges.

They are serviceable swell (grease nipple).

Has anyone tried the Optimill hinges? I'm tempted, but they'd better be good for what they cost!

Just use genuine TD5 hinges ... and spray a bit of lithium grease on them from time to time ... I think I managed to get mine from somewhere like Keith Gott Land Rovers
Soapy water / KY jelly, etc. is is basically a must. Yes, good idea to remove trim panels - only takes 5 more minutes to do so.

I just ordered a set from sp4x4. I got sent 3 all makes brand and 1 bearmach brand. The bearmach was of much nicer quality. When I asked why, they said it was a mistake, as the bearmach said were much more expensive. I had them bill me the difference and send me the full set . Very nice quality.

This subject seems to come up pretty often. Here's 2012: 2013: and 2014: A lot of the hinges mentioned in the older threads are NLA with dead links.

I'm very happy with the Smiling Hound 316L Stainless Steel hinges that I got for my 110 while living in Europe. Unfortunately they've gone silent a few years ago also, and their web site recently disappeared.
