Battery Cutoff Switch ( for the winch )

Any recommendations ( without spending 200.00 )

Looking to isolate the winch when not in use

I would like to put a Master switch cutoff in the Battery box ( so surface mount )

I know my winch draws 280 at momentary and 487 continuos, I googled but only came up with a Blue Sea rated for 500 continuous at 214.00

Thanks

500A continuous seems high... Is that a 12,000 lbs winch?

Yeah... Who's fat arse are you pulling out anyway... Should you happen to need that much amperage you can just take the two cables and put them on the same post....but really unusual to be needing that much amperage for extended pulls...winch gets too hot anyway..

I have used these on the winch power lines either under the hood close to the winch or in the battery box

these don't help with anti-tamper, which was my concern. Google "winch vandalism"

None of the ones are the type I want for surface

this is

http://www.amazon.com/Marinco-Power-.../dp/B00NW4V64K

However this one goes only to 400 continuous

Yeah yea yeah... I am cleaning the battery box area, with a Blue sea fuse box, and the Battery post have one of of this , so the connect / disconnect cheap ass suggestions will not work

Correct, aside from the hassle of laying in the mud to connect :-)

Had the Warn Version of that one on the 90, hate it

Momentary should be much higher than continuous. Please check the numbers they are likely reversed.

Sure about that ?

I thought momentary is pulsing the winch, continuous is when you run the lead full power

Rockys right... Momentary is higher as it is only for a very short time... Not enough time to really stress or get the contacts hot enough before cooling off...

Stud Size (Imperial) 2 x 1/2 in
Stud Size (Metric) 2 x 12mm
Continuous Rating 600
Intermittent Rating 800

And the specs for the WARN 10,000

12V DC PERFORMANCE SPECS
Line Pull
Lbs.(Kgs.) Line Speed
FT./min(M/min.) Motor
Current Pull by layer
layer/Lbs(Kgs.)
0 25.9 (7.8) 66 amps 1/10000 (4536)
2000 (910) 13.0 (3.9) 160 amps 2/8000 (3629)
4000 (1810) 9.6 (2.9) 247 amps 3/7280 (3302)
6000 (2720) 7.1 (2.1) 332 amps 4/6670 (3026)

So it should work right?
