basic questions

Hello,
Most people on this forum have seen these questions probably a thousand times. So sorry for this.
But I was servicing my LR 2.5 engine and I was wondering what kind of oil I should use to replace the old one.
And unfortunately I don't have any experience with cleaning an oil bath air filter. How exactly should I do this?

I use Shell Rotella 10W-40W in both my diesel Land Rovers - Walmart carries it

x2 on the Rotella. For many years I used Dryden/Castrol Dieselall, but that's been hard to find close and I've switched to Rotella.

I think everyone has given you advice for the engine oil, you just need cheap oil to fill the oil bath filter.
I'm surprised that a 110 has an oil bath filter, maybe it was a camel trophy thing.
I'd empty the oil out of the filter, rinse the gauze filter and oil pan with diesel drain and refill with cheap engine oil. You don't need fancy stuff in the filter, it just has air drawn through it and the dirt trapped in the gauze which drains back into the pan and settles to the bottom when the engine is off.
