Ball joint on top of rear axle

Is there any way to get this off without removing the entire axle?? The nut on the bottom came off fine but can't get the ball joint to budge at all. Can't reach the bracket bolts or I would take those off. Any suggestions?

Thanks, Mike

I haven't tried it but I'm told driving/braking a short distance with the bolts loose will do the trick

Keep the nut on there if you try that. Hitting it with a BFH works too, better with a soaking of Kroil first.
