Badger Top

My first Defender was a 1997. I didn't like the factory soft top and went with the fiberglass top and enjoyed it for 5 years or so until it started cracking at the junction points. I now have a 1995 with the factory best top. The best top is horrible obviously. If the Badger top like my 1997 which I didn't think was all that great or is it superior to the point where I don't need to think about D90tops.com?

You talking about the top that came with the truck from the dealership? Known as a Tickford is definitely not the same as a badger.

Yeah. I've never seen the Badger in person. Is it that much better than what came on my old 1997? The one on my current 1995 is even worse. It's pretty much unusable with the gaps by the door top windows.

Resale values for the Badger tops are about or near what new Badger tops are sold for. Just run a search through the "for sale" section and you can see for yourself when you compare the prices against whats shown on the Badger site. Quality is top notch.

The 97 like OP mentions came with Bestop. 04/95 were Tickfords.
Badger comes marked with his badge.

Search Badger Coachworks using the search function here. There are sooooooooo many comparison threads and other info on the tops that you'll be able to read up to your heart's content. Buying used will save you wait time, as they're made to order.

Thanks Ron. I've got the best top now and it's terrible. This is a forever truck. I'll either get the Badger or try D90tops.

We use Badger tops on all our restorations. Ten years later the quality is evident.
