Badger Surrey vs. RN Surrey

Hope to have a new Badger FDS II for next winter. It would be my first from Chris. From what I've read, its not doubt the best top.

But for the summer, I run the surrey. So...

How does the Badger surrey compare to the RN?

Does the twillfast look significantly better vs. the vinyl? I'd say yes on a full top, but is there enough vertical material to make a difference?

The Badger top wraps around the bar about the front doors. Chris said this is to stop water from dripping on the side of your leg. How does that look?

Is it just as easy for a quick remove to enjoy the full sun?

and enough difference to justify the price?

If you bought a Badger II then you basically will already have both a full Badger top and a Badger surrey because all of the sides of a BII roll up to simulate the same as a surrey. Yes, the Badger surrey (if you really want to buy it separately) is superior in materials and fit, but it's a surrey, so the actual utility will not be that much higher to you. It's likely not going to be much quieter, keep out more rain, let less wind in, etc. as that's the job of a full top.

FYI, Badger makes Vinyl tops as well... for the purpose of the Surrey the RN will be more than sufficient. Plus if you haven't ordered a Badger Surrey...it may be awhile till you get it. I believe Chris is a little backed up at the moment.

I love the clean look of a surrey. Rolling up the windows on the FDS will be great for in-between seasons, for those warm days and cool nights.

If I choose Badger... I can run my old beat-up Bestop surrey until Chris can produce one. My original plan was to get a RN surrey and a FDS. I have yet to see the trillfast surrey.

It sounds like some have been waiting 2 years for their badger tops (I've been waiting almost a year) so as KKilo23 said, I wouldn't be planning on anything for this summer (or even perhaps next summer).
