Bad Voltage Regulator? New alternator?

Guys,

I have a rover V8 3.5L engine. Engine was stalling, so I changed fuel filter, cleaned out the carbs, put Sea Foam through the fuel tank. Stalling went away for about 90% of the time. Then, I started to notice that while running, my battery indicator slowly decreases, to the point of stalling out every once in a while.

I thought maybe a bad alternator or battery. All lights are normal intensity. Tested battery, battery read 12ish. So, that tested good. Then, after using AutoZone's Battery tester, I tested the alternator. Diodes read fine. Voltage Regulator failed 3 times.

So, as I gather, I think I need a new alternator; and might as well replace the belt.
Question:

Anybody have a source or part numbers for a rover V8 3.5L alternator and belt? (keep in mind the 3.5L V8 alternator is mounted on the passenger side.)

Thanks!

Just replace the regulator--any decent alt shop could do this for you if you don't want to do it yourself. Just my advice on that--it will cost way more to buy a new one. Here is a Atlantic British link for the belt/alternator if it is the one you are after... http://www.roverparts.com/nxt/?page=...n=Defender+110

belt is ETC 7394
LHP26 isn't acting right on the alternator, pretty sure its a 55amp unit but that supercedes to the 65amp 200tdi part

Still going to attempt to get the alternator remanned, but managed to get in contact with George at Rovers Down South (RDS) in New Orleans, LA. He mentioned that the part number is RTC5683. It is a 45 amp alternator. Thanks to all who helped out, and especially George!

I would suggest, if you are buying an alternator to get one of the 65 Amp ones. They are a lot better. They are not expensive.
