bad radio reception / antenna question

I have a 1997 D-90 and get crappy reception with the stock antenna (completely pulled up) in forest areas. I was wondering about power antenna's. I saw them referenced in a few posts but only vague comments or jokes about them. Anyone think it is a good solution and if yes, is there a brand one suggests?

Thanks
David

That's the last thing you want .... If you have crappy reception that will just make it worse ... As Tom says ... Make sure it's all clean and well connected. If you have to buy a replacement try hirschmann ... As fitted to German cars ..

Hi, thanks for all the replies. I think I meant an antenna amplifier, but, thanks for the replies. I'll check the connections first. The reception is great in urban areas and highways but bad on highways which run through woods, that's why I was thinking it's less of a bad contact issue and more of an amplification issue.

If it's not a contact issue, maybe I'll try that Hirschmann replacement.

Thanks!
