Sorry to hear about your truck. Likely a failure of the oil cooler lines. Sadly, all too common on these trucks. Anyone out there who hasn't replaced them, should.

I was not aware until it was too late. A warning to all this is a real life threatening issue!

Well, now you can start planning on what you are going to do with it as a Salvage...

Even if you do not want it, I guarantee someone will buy it off of you, even as a salvage title.

DO NOT let that truck get sold to the insurance company.

What badge number was it? Believe it or not, all 500 are tracked at the Horsey Stalking Operations Center.

Why not let insurance take care of it? Please explain.

Truthfully, after looking at your pictures, the damage isn't as bad as it could have been. I've actually seen far worse. It won't be cheap, but she is rebuildable. You should be able to buy her back from the insurance company after they total her. Downside is that they'll issue you a salvage title. But again, I've definitely seen worse (case in point)......

Talk to Mark Kellgren (Overlander). His 110 is a rebuilt fire damaged truck and he can give you some good insight.

The chassis and VIN of a 1993 NAS D110 is worth a lot of money. There were only 500 made.

Even if you don't want to rebuild it, you will make more just buying it back from the insurance company and then selling it to someone, even as a Salvage.

The insurance company will most likely total your 110. I doubt they will fix it. Take the cash settlement and use the funds to rebuild it or sell it on this board.

Glad no one was hurt. The truck is repairable.

Keep it and its VIN and do it right!

To all:

Is this gasoline only or a tdi issue too? I appreciate the above data...very helpful.

TIA

jeff

See if you can negotiate a partial claim below salvage value if you can. Totally rebuilable. That's what mine looked like and now it's awesome. Great chance to justify switch to TDI if you want. I even swaped bulkheads for the vented kind. There's so many more ROW trucks and parts now for you to tap into than before. You could even go PUMA now!

Pendy did my resto and diesel conversion and knows his stuff.

Jeff,

It only effects NAS V8's. Not an issue for Tdi's.
