Auxiliary Heat

I have a 1994 defender 90 that i bought a few months ago. The previous owner had the auxiliary heat installed. Unfortunately it is always on! Does anyone know how to turn it off? is there a new switch somewhere i am missing?

Take a picture of it and post it here, I am sure someone else has one or has had one.

Welcome to the board,

Scott

I would just take that OUT!!!! It will be a pain in you butt. Matter of fact I would just yank it out, box it up, and then ship it to me.

Talking

The switch is on the left side of the dash next to the dimmer switch for your instrument cluster. At least that's where mine is.

If its the one that uses the fluid from your heater hose there should be a shut off under the hood where they spliced off the heater hose to get the fluid. If there isnt one you can add one. try jc whitney for the shut off or even Home Depot. if you dont want the heater at all disconnect the 2 hoses that connect to the heater and get 2 new heater hoses.

then ship the heater to brian : )

even if u shut the electric switch off the hot fluid will still flow.

Thats good to know because I am going to use the heater hoses for a heat exchanger and hot water shower, under the seat of the passenger. It would be nice to stop the coolant flow to that area so it does not get too hot.

How did you solve the problem? Find the switch, uninstall the heater or take the top off your truck?
