Auto transfer case

Just wondering if the automatic d90s use the same transfer case as the r380?

No, NAS Autos are 1.2 same as stick. 94/95 (Stick) and 97 (Auto) NAS V8 trucks all run 1.2 cases. ROW Diesels and/or the smaller gas engine trucks run different ratio cases.

My 97 came with a 1:4 As far a I know everyone I have talked with that has a 97 says there's are 1:4 also. from what i have been told all the auto 90's were 1:4 to make up the difference of the 265 tire compared to the disc 1:2 with smaller tires.

Here you go. Per the Parts list:

NAS 90 (Stick) = LT230T - 32D - 1.214:1
NAS 90 (Auto) = LT230Q - 40D - 1.211:1

The 0.003 difference in the 90 box ratios is because of the change from the T to the Q versions of the box not because of the change from Stick to Auto.

My 97 D90 (Auto) is a 1.2. My 94 D90 (Stick) is a 1.2 (but it may not be the original unit). My 96 D1 (Stick) is a 1.2. My 98 D1 (Auto) is a 1.2.

If the OP looking to swap Gearboxes isn't there a short adapter drive needed when using the auto box?

I have a tcase out of a 97 D90 in my 130 (purchased in desperation when I grenaded the original 1.4 on Mass Pike in order to get home). It is a 1.2. The other NAS d90's I have worked on all have had 1.2 stickers on the tcase.

Hoping to get the 1.4 tcase I have for the 130 in this week for conclave but that may be a bit optomistic. Had hoped to get that installed and run up on 35's on steelies.

97s had the Q as mentioned and also have the solinoid on top to prevent you from shifting when you should not.

All NAS D90s had a 1.2 box when they left the factory. All NAS 110s had the 1.4 box when they left the factory.
