Call Jim at The Rover Group. 858 689 8900 Ask him what shop he recommends. Thats probably the best way to go.

You can also call British car service in LA, they can recomend some one in Marina Del Ray. I can't remember the name of the shop, but they are very familiar with Defender's (British owned body shop).

Land Rover unlimited changed their name to West coast Rovers. ask for Eddie. He's a nice guy and can probably do the work.

I HIGHLY recommend 'Absolute Rover' at Melrose and Fairfax. They have full Rover diagnotics, as well as a full body shop. Both my son Jason and I have had work done there. Great pricing and reputable. British Pacific first told me about them when I was looking for the closest shop with diagnostic equipment.

All the body work is done by a book, like mechanical work. It says for this part it cost $xxx and requires x amount of labor, and so on. Then the body shop takes what the insurance company pays. Kind of like doctors and health insurance.

Not what I'm implying, because of the aluminum panels and the nature of a hand made vehicle I would only use someone who knows and understands the nature of the beast. Aluminum doesn't have "memory" like other metal used in car production. You can't just pull a dent out like you can with other cars. Find someone who works on Land Rovers and you should be fine. If it is really bad they will probably just replace the panels. Good luck and if you find someone good let me know, I have some work I need to get done. The shop I spoke with wanted more than I was willing to pay.
