Are these boost wheels?

Just want to make sure before I buy these from this junkyard, are these boost wheels?

So while we're on the subject... what is the allure of the boost wheel over the other alloys? Not a rhetorical question.

I like them both personally, I was just curious purely to calculate in my mind how much they are worth. I passed on them. If anybody wants them they are sitting in Albuquerque for $50 a piece.

I had deep dishes on my disco -- thought they were nice looking and well-built wheels. I haven't seen em on Defenders much though.

Quite a few of the NOVA area junkyard Discos had the Deep Dishes last time I was there (in the fall).

I am pretty sure those are mostly in the 97-99 D1 timeframe and thus not too many Defenders would have had them as an option.

I meant as after-market option to tornados, steelies, etc

I ran deep dishes on my 83 and also have a set for my 130 with 285's for street use. I like em- but I march to the beat of a different drummer than them yankee's.

I have deep dishes on mine with 255/85s and love them.

Come to think, I need to find a 5th for my spare . . .

I think people like them because it updates the 90s Defender to the 2010+ look. They are currently being offered by Land Rover as an alloy option. I researched them about 5 years ago and found out that same wheel came on the 98 Limited Discovery too here in the US so I bought a set and loved the way they looked... People then followed suit.

But that being said, I read they are the strongest alloy LR has ever made.

Not only am I the president I am a member too...

But all seriousness, I got them, Jorge liked them and got them, then Randy, then so on and so on. And I am now going with NAS110 white steelies soon!

But i'd say half of the NYC guys that have them wheel the shit out of their trucks so its not all mall crawling like the rest of you sissies in your steel wheels

You can all relive the beginning of the downfall here: http://www.discoweb.org/forums/showt...eferrerid=6758

The deep dishes look good. The boosts look the best on the Defender, the freestyles looks best on Discos, TVRs look best on Classics. Its all personal preference, I also like white NATO's on SW's. Ive had boosts for 7 years.
