Anyone with Trucklite LED's...

Notice this issue with one light looking purple and the other white? I swear when I first installed them around a year ago both were crisp white. Now one looks purple.

If it started white and is now purple, then you may have an issue. In architectural lighting, when we experience a color shift it is typically a sign that the LED is operating outside of it's conditions and is a very bad thing, usually a precursor to failure. It is typically a poor heat sinking situation. If it is color shifting, you should contact TruckLite.

Thanks for the insight. I'll shoot their customer service a call next week. Will update.

Looks like I found same issue per below. Hopefully I get a replacement set.

Fired off a letter this morning to Truck-Lite's Customer Service and Technical departments. Pic below shows the color on day one of install. Hopefully they take care of this, as I planned to order additional sets for a RRC.

That's something I can look forward to, I just installed the truck lites with heated element built in...1 hr of night use tops..they are brighter than the xenon on an lr3 or 06 supercharged range when side y side..pleased with them so far...keep us updated on the outcome...good luck.

This is good to hear. I have been thinking about the Truck-lites with the elements, but have also been considering the JW Speaker and just hope that the heaters aren't that important. I do a ton of winter driving so the heater elements sounded like a nice option.

i got the Truck-Lite 27270C 7" rounds two years ago and they're great. did you have to install the anti-flicker harness?

That is only for Jeep JKs. They have a pulse width modulated electrical supply to the headlights.

I have the JW speaker and did not have any issues with them this winter, didn't do that much driving in the snow but had no problem with icing up when it was snowing.

We are in southern WA and go to the mountain 3-4 times a week. We get lots of wet sloppy snow. My Cibie super Oscars with 100 watt halogens will ice up and wipers are constantly a problem here. They get so encased in snow and ice they don't touch the windshield anymore. I have not had my main H4 headlights ice up too bad.

This was an interesting review on LED lighting from Pirate 4x4:
Pirate4x4.Com - The largest off roading and 4x4 website in the world.

He really liked the JW Speaker but I don't think they offer the heated version. I like the price on the Truck-Lites better as well. They are just super expensive instead of wickedly expensive. I do value good lighting though.

I prefer the look of the Truck-Lite reflector style light better as well.

I have not had the opportunity to test my lights during inclement weather. the little night driving I have done I have noticed a distinctive "y" pattern at the end of the light pattern, somewhat distracting. no flickering and when stopped behind a bus, I was able to see a clear end of light at about bumper level on the bus.
I have yet to drive on dark country roads be able to report.
again the most they have had is about an hours worth of use, barely enough to make a good comparison versus observation.

After reading all this I believe my passenger side Truck lite in the RRC is significantly weaker on low beam. I haven't really thought about the color difference. Who has the direct mail/email address to customer service.
Thanks in advance...

Just an update here...Customer Service at Truck-Lite sent me a replacement for the bad one, no questions asked. Just advised that I return the defective light so they can figure out the issue. Very pleased with the support from this company.

Thanks for the update and links to customer service. Emailing them now. One of my low beams is faint and purple after just a few hours of use. High beam remains fine. Just have been too lazy to do anything about it until now.

Jeez...good customer service but this is NOT convincing some of us to go with LED headlights!
