Anyone successfully obtained a new EPA VIN sticker for a NAS truck from LRNA?

I really want to have my bulkhead galvanized, but I would also like to be able to take my truck to Canada without worry of it being seized at the border.

Has anyone ever done this? Frankly, I don't care how much it costs, I just want to do it.

I have the title, registration etc. so I have proof of ownership. Has anyone ever done this? How did you go about doing it? I know it is, or at least was, possible, I am just looking for guidance.

If not, what do you do? cut out the original sticker and rivet or weld it back on?

Not to get into a legal debate, but both state and federal law by my read permit this.

Contact your local DMV and see what they say. Get it in writing.

PA has private DMV. According to my friend who owns the largest chain of these, if LRNA gives me the sticker, no issue from the state.

I had a d2 that I bought of the back row of a used car lot, where it sat unpurchased because of a running problem. While it sat there someone must have been contemplating stealing it because they had removed the dash vin plate and the sticker on the drivers door. The closest land rover dealer said they could order the sticker for like $3 but that I had to being proof of ownership and that it might take a few weeks to show up. I eventually sold it without bothering because my closest dealer is 2 hours away and I didn't want to make that trip twice for a sticker that it turns out I didn't need after all.

So to answer your question, no I haven't.

I did a vin swap on a CJ, I had to call my DMV they sent an investigator out he removed the vin, when my firewall was I called him back and he came out and reinstalled it. Cost me $60, hardest part was being able to nail down a time to schedule that worked for both of us! He documented everything and took before and after pics. There are SOP in each state, you just new to contact who ever is in charge.

It does in so far as the import issues has made me paranoid about replacing parts with VINs on them on my NAS D90. The PA statute is quite lenient and expressly contemplates the replacement of parts needing repair or replacement ie a rusty bulkhead or frame.

Anytime you remove a vin/ change the pop rivets and do any type of restoration that involves removing the vin it sure does!! Just because your not changing vehicle with the vin doesn't matter. The DMV doesn't care, they don't care if you document it, all they care about is making sure the proper steps are taken to prevent any fraud, and any time that the vehicle comes under investigation in the future then your ass is covered.

Think your good buddy Mike Smith posted a while back that they wouldn't play ball.

The VIN plate is staying on the windscreen mount and not going anywhere. PA only requires "the" VIN. I just want to line up a new sticker before I take it apart and galvanize it.

We are talking about an informational sticker, not changing the vin

Ron, which decal/sticker are we talking about? Send me a picture and its location and I'll see if it is available through LRNA.
