anyone running 4:43's - R & P vs 4:14's

running 285/75/16 km2 (32.83") and may someday go to 255/85/16 (33.01"); probably will not go to 35" tires.

-r380 5 speed D-90; purchasing GBR gear sets, either 4:14's or 4:43's.

anyone running 4:43's...I would appreciate on & off-road impressions.

My estimate is that at 75 mph (5th) with 285's; 4:14's = 2523 rpm's while 4:43's = 2720 rpm's; (stock 265's with 3.54 = 2254 rpm); (not exactly sure of r380 gear ratios so rpm's could be slightly off)

Looking for slower off-road without getting to high in rev's on road...75mph highway speed to my favorite trails or Moab...leaning towards the 4:43's as I have heard that 4.75 are too low for on-road. (Bill GBR has already chimed in)

Go here for your answer. http://www.ashcroft-transmissions.co...atio_calc.html

I'm Running Ashcroft 4.12's up front, and 4.11 Dana's in the rear, I have a 1.4 Tcase with a Roverdrive. The ratios work out to be about the same as 1.2:1 case when I am in high range on the OD. 75 runs about 2600 0n 285's. A little lower off road would be nice (especially with a bus) but I think the 4.43's would be a little too low

i'm running 285/75/16 and 4:11s. Great off road but not so great on the hwy. If its your daily driver I wouldnt go any lower running those sized tires.
