I ran the same size on my 110 for 5 years with no modifications except an adjustment to the stops. They rubbed, but only on tight undulating sand dune crossings and never enough to cause concern. Personally, I think this size looks great and I'll be fitting the same on my 90 (if I ever finish it )

I run 285/75 and there is little rubbing but nothing serious.

Regarding the speedo - actually the speedometer is more accurate with the larger tires! I could be wrong but from what I understand the stock setup tires were actually slightly undersized and the stock setup makes your speedo (and ultimately odo) think you are going slightly faster than you really are. Regardless my speedo is actually closer to the correct speed with 285's.

Regarding the speedo, just get a new VDO one that you can adjust. Not like the stock Defender gauge is useful or anything
