Stock 4.2 compressor
Classic Auto Air electronic streetrod unit
Vents, condensor, all came from Classic. Black anodized control panel

I had to modify the unit as it came from Classic by moving the squirrel cage from one end to the other. No biggie, but the rest of the install was pretty intense. The unit had to be recessed half in/out of the pass side footwell top which is at an angle. It is designed to only have recirc air hence the half in/out scenario. Shot of the condenser behind the tranny cooler.

You guys doing these HVAC conversions, how do these systems work as far as power drain on the engine.

I don't use my current under dash HVAC as it pulls to much on the engine under power and makes for sluggish driving.

Rick,
You must have something wrong. I can tell a slight reduction in power with mine on but not to the point I would turn it off. Especially in Dallas in August.

In my SW this summer, it couldnt keep up with the heat. I am all ears for more cooling ideas.
