Question Anyone know what size socket ?

I was @ the @ the car wash today trying to blast all the salt off the 130 and noticed the steering box nut
that holds the drop arm on is GONE ! I slowly limped it home. On Sunday I need to go to the local pick and pull and get one of these and locktite it on before driving the truck again. Anyone know off hand what size socket fits that big steering shaft nut ?

The size of the nut that keeps the drop arm in place is 1 5/16. At least it was on my defender and the new box (disco) I fitted is the same..

I had a bit of trouble removing the arm from my steering box a few years ago. I broke two "guaranteed for life" pullers, so I took it to my local machine shop. After he broke his puller, I gave up and replaced the steering box. Of course, if you try to drive your truck without the nut, the arm will probably fall off.

Probably will fall off but might damage some spline.. If I may suggest that you take the steering box to a mechanic with an hydraulic puller. Steady pull without fuss.. don't forget to use the lock washer!
