Zack, the D2 rear spring seats are the "deep" type. The fronts are standard, same as D1/Defender. You could put a set of D2 rear spring seats on the front to drop it a bit... so long as theres clearance to fit the deeper seat.

Thanks Adam, I do know that; but the difference is only half an inch. I'd like to get a full inch or more

You could get another ~1/4" by switching from the insulated D2 shock tower retainers to the old metal ring style.

Otherwise its a custom fab job... I could do it for you if you want to send me down a couple spring seats.

Like transientmechanic said - custom fab job if you any to get it done.

If you want to hack your axle and cut the mount and weld the spring seat directly to the axle housing? Might be alignment and differences in metal thicknesses issues.

Or take a 2nd spring seat weld it to the top of the first one and then cut out the parts you don't need. A plasma cutter should make short work of that.

I don't have anything with coil springs here to look at, but would you be making it hard to get to the bottom shock mount bolt if the spring seat was much lower than stock?

Tony, I posted a photo of my shock mounts if you look on page one. D2s have 2 weld nuts so you don't need to reach into it

Unlike you, I don't have to haul $6k worth of random used rover parts at any given time!
