Anyone got a ECM I can borrow

Anyone have an extra ECM for a 1997 90 I can borrow for a week or so while I send mine out to get repaired?

Thanks

If you are talking about the GEMS ECU they are normally coded to the vehicle/Alarm ECU so you'll probably need to get it programed to run your truck. You can't normally just switch them around between trucks unless whoever you get it from disables the Alarm Sync Feature 1st.

I'm not sure that would matter on the D-90 since the D-90 does not have the "green box". The alarm ECU is what disables the truck, not the ECU. Even truck equipped with an alarm, the alarm can be by-passed and any ECU will start the truck.

The only exception to this, that I have found, is the P38 GEMs 4.6 ECU. I could not get the P38 ECU to work in a Disco no matter what I did (even with Autolodgic unlocking security mode). Not sure about Defenders, though.

97 D90s do have the 'green box'. The 10AS ECU is mounted behind the instrument panel bolted to the dash frame. Its only there to sync with the GEMS ECU at startup. Not sure if the wiring workarounds will work on a 90 or not though.

97 NAS Defender GEMS ECUs are indeed coded to the vehicle.
Unless you code it with an AutoLogic (or other device) or use an unlocked ECU, it will not start the truck.

He PMed me, but all I have are 14CUX ecus! I don't even have a spare car to loan him (unless he wants to swing by tomorrow and get one of the rovers back up and running).

Does Frank have autologic? There is a DI being parted out local

Thanks Ron.
It won't appear to work even if I found one since I have a 97. I think like everyone said it's coded to the truck. just sent it to Mike, he knows someone who repairs them. Even with the book to program..it won't work.

Thanks for even thinking of loaning me something, very nice of you. You've seen my mechanic skills, Do you think I could ever get one of your rovers running?

Let me know when you want to use my waxyol guns this summer.
