Anybody know what these are?

Trying to install the Alpine Bow for a soft top after removing a hard top and found these in the slot where the bow goes. Cannot figure out how to get them out. Any suggestions?

Pretty sure they are either just plugs or the ends of an old alpine bow that seized in place and they cut it off. I'd use a bit of PB and a vise-grip wrench and start twisting it out and up. They are nothing that you need to keep, so go to town and good luck. Just don't damage the hole as the new alpine bow will still need to snap down in it's place.

they look like the end of the alpine bow [that bar that should be there to support your top]. the bar came out but the end likely rusted in place. do what frank said above.

Whats odd is that the paint matched. If they were cut off, either there would be a metal end or a non matching black.

They gimble on a pin inside the alpine bow on mine. I bet if the pic were taken from 90 degrees from the ones posted, we would see the hole through it. I'm guessing the po just beat off the old bow and sheared or cut the pin.

Yup. Figures. They broke off the pin that allowed it to orient/gimble inside of the alpine bow and snap down into the cantrail. When you get your new replacement bow, you'll see what I mean.
