Any tips for how to disassemble a Defender window washer nozzle?

I need to remove the Defender window washer nozzle cap from the internal rod assembly without breaking either parts. Has anyone ever attempted this? Advice appreciated.

Just out of curiosity: why?
The part is worth like $5 and is meant to be a non-serviceable item.

Probably trying to replace a broken part without having to dismantle the dash. It's a chore to replace those things.

I don't think they're intended to come apart and go back together, but if you're stubborn enough you might be able to make something happen.

I've removed and cleaned both front and rear. 95, SW. Found it pretty easy to do and after 23 years or so, small pieces of dirt do get in there and clog them.

Work perfectly now!

Yes!
Just remove the dashboard to get the one and only nut.
