Any Good Stock Looking Bumpers?

I have read that the stock Defender bumpers bend easily. After looking at many aftermarket bumpers, I think I actually like the simple stock bumper the best. I'm wondering if there are any good solid front bumpers that are stock? And are there any that are stock looking that fit winches?

I know of the ones Rovers North sells but I read they also are relatively weak.

You could always have someone fabricate you one. 3/16" steel with some boxing for strength should do the trick. Any capable fabricator can make you one, it doesn't get much more simple than a defender front bumper.

I checked with him some time back and he wouldn't build for defenders. The solution for the OP's need is the military defender bumper. Identical in style except for a central recovery point. RN/Paddocks etc.

The exmod bumpers are weak.

I actually have a military bumper. I'm happy to hear that they are stronger than the stock bumper, and am sad to see they aren't that strong (lucky that didn't get the fender).

How about 1/4in wall box and round the edges and add some tabs to mount to the bumper. The problem with doing the HD bumper is the frame is the weak point and you are likely to tweak it in a minor offset accident (rather than the bumper bending and wrecking your fender).

I came across this bumper recently on a UK forum (halfway down the page). No details of the build but I'd imagine a fabricator could come up with something similar for a reasonable price. A really simple and clean look although it looks like you'd have to trim the grille and surround

That has to be one of the best I have seen. Exactly what I would like.

The Mantec looks like a good second option. I'm guessing it is pretty durable?

This one seems to have clean lines for a winch bumper.

I read an old thread about First Four. Roversnorth used to carry them. Anyone have any recent experience with these bumpers?

That doesn't look stock. If you like that, then support local, and buy a Rockware without a brush bar.
