Another weird turn signal question

I couldn't find the answer in the archives so here it goes:

My right signals work fine. My left signals do not, but I hear the relay click when I click on my left signals. When I put on the hazard switch, all signals work just fine.

Any ideas as to what this could be?

(Incidentally, I have the ECR LED's now, which I installed today.)

Do you mean you had the problem before and after the install, or just after it?

That would point to an issue with the switch/ contacts.
Email me if you need assistance.

I had the problem before (left side signals failing), periodically, but without the relay clicking, and it mysteriously worked itself out after a few days. The past few days, however it was doing that, and also sometimes just the rear left signal would fail (creating the rapid front signal). It was a nice day today so I decided to install the LEDs, figuring that maybe a funky bulb connection was the culprit.

I must also add everything was working just fine just before the install.

So... after the install... I have perfectly functioning right hand signals. Also, all signals, left and right work when I put on the hazard switch. But when I switch on the left signal, the dash lamp does not light, nor do the left hand signals... I just get the click of the relay.

I assume there is a loose connection somewhere, but I guess I could use some thoughts on how to go about finding it.

Sounds like a switch issue.
Unplug the switch and make the connection manually with a short piece of wire to see if it works.

If not, plug the standard lamp back in, or swap the signal LEDs side to side to see if the problem changes or goes away.

Are you using our LED flasher unit?

If the LED unit has an issue we will be happy to replace it.

That's gotta be the the problem. Last night after I posted, I got into my truck and the signals worked fine. It has a mind of its own. I'll check the contacts today, and hardwire them if I have to.

Mike, I'll send the lamp to you next week. First, I'll take a look at it again to make sure my eyes weren't playing tricks on me.

Thank you for your help.

Was this ever resolved? I have the exact same problem with my truck and would like what your remedy was.
Thanks!

If you are running ECR LEDs they do really odd things when the front turn signal bulbs burns out.

I just went through this on a 90 here. LH signal worked fine, RH signal made all hell break loose. Turned on the hazard and that worked fine. Problem was I was just looking at the back lamps when the hazards were on. When I looked up front I saw the RH turn signal bulb had burnt out. Changed the bulb in the front and everything was 100%.
Its a back-feed issue with the LED low load flaher unit.

Have to admit it even made me wonder for a few minutes, but check the standard bulbs at the front and their grounds.

Excuse me for my ignorance, but I presume ECR is the genuine Mike Smith?

I had a similar behavior with my D90, it ended up being a slightly corroded ground in one of the tail lights.
