Cool Another Ujoint question

Alright so I've searched and searched on this question. My parts book says front and rear uj's are diff. numbers. Read faq and the sub. info. Bought (2) Spicer 5-4x(spendy) installed front no prob. Also bought (2) 5-153x for rear only to find out that the front and rear uj's are the same(the 5-153x was longer)...This is a 97 SW(auto of course ) anyone have a definitive answer on this...same or different for front and rear...thanks everyone!

On both of my stock shafts they had the same U-joints. I think some 90s had heavy duty rears.

The usual answer is...it all depends.
It seems there is no rule as to which are used. I used Neapco 5-0001 on the front of my 89 diesel pity the 5-153 don't fit they were half the price. I haven't needed to do the back yet.
