Alternator crapped?

This is for my '91 RRC but it's all the same. Left the lights on recently and it killed the battery stone dead in an hour and starts have been slow lately. Recently replaced battery. Voltmeter shows 12.3 volts across battery at idle and the same at 2000RPM. Tried the same test at junction on firewall and frame ground with same results. Is there any option I'm missing or is it time for an alternator?

Is the charge light coming on when you turn on the key and does it go out when running? If not, you need to check that bulb and circuit.

Next check all wiring connections.

If that fails, it is probably the alternator...

Charge light comes on with key and goes out when running. Just tried it and then the AC fans came on for some reason, never heard them come on ever before, pulled the fuses.
